Misuzu saves Yukito by pushing Kano off him. Her sister apologizes to them and tells Kano’s story. The summer after their mother died, they went to a festival. Kano wanted a ballon because she thought she could fly with it. Her sister told her that it wouldn’t work but bought her one anyway. When she was about to take the balloon though, a guy bumped into her and it flew away. She explained that she told Kano that her mother was up in the sky because she and her father didn’t want to tell someone as young as her that she was really dead. One day they found this feather. After that, Kano started acting strange and was scared of bright lights. She frequently tried to slit her wrists, so her sister tied the bandanna on her. The next day, Misuzu tells Yukito that she had a dream where she was flying again, except this time she was sad. Yukito then meets up with Michiru again, who’s gathering garbage. She says she has a hobby of collecting things and Yukito tells her it’s stupid. They see Tohno and her mother walking, and Michiru comments that Tohno looks sad. Yukito calls her over, and asks if Michiru told him who she was with. Yukito says that he knows its her mother because he helped her the other day. When he finally gets to work, he sees Kano, completely normal again. He discovers a letter from her saying that she’s going to the sky, asking to make sure her sister doesn’t overwork herself, and apologizing for hurting him. He, Misuzu, and Kano’s sister go to look for her. They find her near where the feather is, somehow bleeding without external injury. Yukito takes the feather and puts it on Kano. He uses his powers and hears the voice of a woman named Shiraho. She said that her first child Yakumo was born with a strange mark on his right arm. He caused a feather to fall from the sky. Then bad things began to happen. Her husband left to go to war. She fled to another village, and most of the people there died from a plague. The people believe that she bought the plague and she’s told to sacrifice her child. She refuses and sacrifices herself instead. Then they hear Kano talking to her mother. She’s offered the chance to come with her, but then her mother changes her mind because she doesn’t have any feathers. (Huh?) Then Shiraho sings a rather annoying song. In the real word, Kano wakes up and the mark on her arm disappears. She thanks Yukito for the advice he gave her for when she meets her mother, but he tells her it was her magic. Her bandanna blows away towards her mother. Okay. This episode made absolutely, positively no sense. Are Kano and Yakumo one in the same? I thought Yakumo was a boy? It’s impossible anyway because she’s not the oldest child. I’m hopelessly confused now.

I had no intention of blogging this, but it’s just too ridiculous to pass up, so I think I’ll do quickie entries for it. There’s a new opening and a new ending. Both songs are nice, though the ending’s is better. This was a pool episode, and though it was funny at times it was more perverted then anything in the first season. It included body-switching and one very bad octopus

Rukia continues walking and begins to remember the people she met and the times she spent on earth, namely Ichigo though. She’s rather surprised when Renji jumps down in front of her, accompanied by Byakuya, her older brother. They want her to tell them the name of the human that stole her powers so they can kill him. She refuses though, so Renji begins to attack her. Meanwhile, Ichigo goes to the bathroom and hears a strange sound. He discovers Kon taped down to the side of the toilet by Rukia, who wanted him to keep quiet about her disappearance. Ichigo frees Kon and sprays him with disinfectant. Kon then tells him to read the letter, which he does. He goes to help Rukia, who’s still busy dodging sword slashes. Renji and Byakuya realize that he was the one who defeated the menos. Therefore Renji uses a very destructive looking sword on Ichigo. Rukia wants to help him, but Ishida holds her back. Then he gets slashed. An interesting ending. Next weeks episode looks kinda boring, but Bleach previews are usually rather dull. For another note, I’ve heard that later on Rukia and Renji become a couple. How on earth does that develop?

Yukito and Misuzu go to Kano (I’ll be calling her from her first name from now on) and try to help her when her sister shows up and is a bit angry. They then leave. Yukito decided to go over and get his paycheck, but is surprised when he hears them talking about strange things. He imitates a cat so he dosn’t get caught, except for the fact that they don’t own a cat. This scene was so hysterical, but unfortunately didn’t make a very interesting cap. Anyway, he dosn’t get busted for it because they don’t really seem to care. The next day, Kano goes to Yukito to say that Potato is missing. The two talk as they search and Kano says she dosn’t remember anything from the previous night. They discuss her “magic”, which she says has something to do with the bandanna that’s tied to her arm. Then Yukito remembers that he put Potato behind a bush by the school and they get him back. Later, he and Misuzu meets up with Michiru and Tohno. Tohno knows about the flying girl as well from a book that she read. When they get back at home, Misuzu pesters Yukito about playing cards, but then Kano’s sister comes and tells them that Kano’s missing. They quickly find her, though her eyes are glowing green and she tries to choke Yukito. Kano’s certainly mysterious, and I wonder what will happen next episode. The preview looks good and it seem like this particular story arc will end. I’m guessing Tohno’s is next.

I’m glad that they made a new ending theme, however Life is Like a Boat was better then this one both visually and song wise. Music isn’t the most important thing in anime though, plot is. This episode was definitely quite good in plot. A lot of background is given on Ishida and on the conflicts between the Shiningami and the Quincys. Being that Ishida’s the last of the Quincy and because of the death of his grandfather, he’s become a vengeful person. Ichigo tells Ishida about him and why he’s fighting the hollows. It’s more about not wanting to cause suffering to families like with his then revenge. Regardless of there different views, Ichigo and Ishida are a lot alike, and it’s pretty cool that they teamed up. The two of them are both funny and cool so I’m growing to like them quite a bit. Rukia however, I’m beginning to like less. She was quite cool in the beginning and now she’s been getting more and more useless to the point that she’s really just in the way. I’m curious about what will become of her as the story progresses and as Ichigo continues to get stronger.

In todays episode, it’s Misuzu’s birthday and Yukito gets a job. It’s also learned that because of stories his mother told him, Yukito is looking for a girl with wings. I’m curious if she’s someone we’ve already met. Misuzu, Kirishima, and Tohno, the three lead girls, all are quite interesting. Misuzu is definitely keeping some things secret, as hinted by the preview. It’s strange that she acts so childish for her age. Then there was that dream where she was flying. I wonder just who her “other self” is. Tohno seems rather dark and quiet. Very little is known about her so far, so I hope she develops soon. Kirishima seems to be the most mysterious of all. She wishes to fly, and the way she mysteriously got dizzy has to have some reasoning behind it. Then there was the end of the episode. What’s up with that?

There’s this guy named Yukito who’s hungry and wants some ramen seto. He needs money though and puts on a show for some little kids who walk by with this weird puppet he has. However, they think it’s stupid and won’t pay him anything. He later meets a girl named Misuzu who says she’ll buy him a drink. He’s not pleased with the flavor though, so he empties it out. Misuzu tells Yukito that she had been watching him sleep and she was trying to wake him up. He then leaves to go to work as a puppeteer, except for the fact that his puppet is gone. They find it being attacked by a crow. Misuzu chases the crow, thinking that’s what he lost, but he gets the puppet back anyway so it doesn’t matter. As they’re walking, She tells him that she wants to be his friend and play with him. They introduce themselves and Yukito turns down the offer. However, he’s still hungry so he winds up going back to her house and eating. While they eat, Misuzu learns that he doesn’t have a place to stay and invites him to live with her. Later, Misuzu’s mother comes home, and she’s certainly an interesting person. She doesn’t want Yukito to stay, but Misuzu convinces her. However, he can only stay under the condition that he’ll look after Misuzu and stop her from imitating dinosaurs when she’s upset. The next day they part as she heads off for school, though she gives him a map (which looks like one of Rukia from Bleach’s diagrams.) Yuktio then meets this strange, yet incredibly fluffy dog. He thinks that he might give him money for watching the puppet, but he just runs off with it. While trying to receive it he falls off a bridge into the water. A girl named Kirishima sees him, introduces the dog as Potato, and retrieves his puppet. Anyway, she’s weird too. After school, Yukito and Misuzu meet up with two more girls, Tohno and Michiru. Michiru takes an instant disliking to Yukito and thinks he’s a pervert even though he did nothing and she ran into him at full force. They both start attacking each other, but Tohno decides that the two of them should go so they leave. At the end of the day, Yukito notices Misuzu standing in the same way she was when they first met and looking at the sky. He questions her about it, and she says that she thinks her true self is in the sky and she’s always bee drawn to it. Though not much happened and this episode seemed to be primarily for character introduction, I’m very impressed and I’m looking forward to more Air. The character designs are simply beautiful and the music is great, though the ending theme is possibly the most visually boring one that I’ve ever seen.
