First off, Happy Halloween! Picture obviously not related.
Yurika has a dream in which she’s a princess and Choco’s a witch. They’re attacked by Makoto and numerous scantily-clad women. Choco can’t protect her because her notebook doesn’t say how to use magic, but Yurika is saved by Kakeru the knight. He cam for her sake, or so she thinks, but she and Choco have switched roles and Kakeru is about to kiss the princess. In school, Yurika’s teacher notices that she looks unhappy and gives Yurika the idea of hosting a tea party. Having her ulterior motives, Yurika decides to do so. While in gym, Yurika fantasizes about the tea party, imagining Kakeru being there and in love with her and Choco being ignored. Not paying attention to the real world, she smashes her head and has to go to the nurse. The nurse asks her what’s wrong and suspects that Yurika’s been thinking about love. She denies it, to the nurse’s amusement. Meanwhile, Haruma is working at a restaurant. Tamami comes in, irritating him for a bit. It’s pretty obvious that she gave him the job. Later, Yurika informs her maid about the tea party, followed by Choco. Choco has no clue what Yurika’s talking about. She think’s since it’s an English tea party it’s actually going to be in Britain. Yurika tells her that it’s going to be at her own house. She invites Choco and has a very hard time telling CHoco to bring her “friend.” Choco figures out what she’s trying to say and graciously accepts. Later, Choco gets stuff ready for the party. Haruma also thinks for a minute that she’s going to Britain, but that’s only because of the way Choco words it. Yurik prepares as well, trying to find a suitable dress. The doorbell rings and she’s very nervous about answering it. It’s Choco and she did bring her friend… though by “friend” she thought Yurika meant the kids from the school whom she was friends with. The kids are enjoying it, but Yurika obviously isn’t. She’s forced into a game of onigaku, which is kind of like hide-and-seek, but all the kids manage to convince the mansion staff to help keep them hidden. Exhausted, she stops for a break but discovers feet behind a curtain. She thinks it might be a trick, but then it moves. Behind the curtain was Choco, who fell asleep. Eventually, everyone leaves. Choco writes about the day in her journal. That night, Yurika has another dream. This time she’s sleeping beauty, the kids are the dwarves, Makoto is the witch and Kakeru is of course the prince. Yurika, who was only pretending to sleep, is pleased that the kids are convincing Kakeru to kiss her. However, the person who kisses Yurika turns into Choco.
Too funny! I had completely forgotten about this story, but I’m glad it was included in the anime. While essentially nothing was accomplished, it was just brilliant comedy. Yurika’s dreams were quite funny, especially the second one. I love how Makoto was always the villain. She is pretty evil sometimes. It’d be great if Yurika could catch a break for once but I doubt that will ever happen. This episode was just full of torture for her. At least she’s been getting a lot of screentime, so I’m content enough. Next week is the continuity of the Neko Nyan dance story. The preview was sickeningly cute itself, so I can’t wait to see how adorable the full thing is.
(Edited)
Minori’s back and will also appear next week! That’s all that matters.
Oh, you wanted a real entry? Well basically, Saki gets scouted by some movie producer and becomes somewhat of an idol among her classmates despite not actually doing anything. It turns out to be a misunderstanding anyway. Kintoresky still lives, but I have a feeling he’ll be gone next week.

Fuzzy, Mojo and the Gangreen Gang meet in a bar and discuss their latest defeats at the hands of the Powerpuff Girls Z. Humiliated, they decided to team up against them. Peach detects them, but the PPGZ aren’t really interested in fighting right now. They start to argue, each annoyed at the other for constantly watching sports, reading manga, etc. Ken threatens to take away all their privileges, so they transform and leave unenthusiastically. Pnce they get to the location of the bad guy’s they get into yet another fight and refuse to work together, so are easily defeated. As part two begins, the bad guys celebrate, but then get into a fight themselves over who’s the leader. Mojo convinces them that it’s him, because he came up with the idea. The PPGZ were sent flying to the moon after their defeat earlier. They sit their sulking until Bubbles points out that the Earth looks really pretty from there. They think about their town and want to return, so they make up and fly back to Earth. They prepare to fight the bad guys again, but it’s very easy this time, because they’re fighting yet again over who’s leader. Eventually, they’re stopped and sent to the moon, where they continue their fight.
Despite completely defying the laws of physics, that was one amusing episode. Okay, so the physics part contributed to it being amusing. Not only is it impossible to breathe on the moon, but the PPGZ should’ve burned up while entering the Earth’s atmosphere. The episode was actually quite clichéd and could’ve been painfully boring, but the way it was presented made it funny. First, it was amusing to see the stories that everyone told in the bar. It seems that the girls don’t even have to try anymore. There’s going to have to be some tougher villains soon, because the show isn’t even half way done. Getting back to the point, next was the transformation scene. For once t was done a bit differently. I don’t want to give it away, but it clearly was devoid of all enthusiasm. In all, quite fun. There’s been some lackluster episodes lately (or at least last week’s was pretty painful) so I hope to see more like this in the future. Next week, more inanimate objects! An evil piano attacks. He’s not nearly cute enough though.
After talking with Serena, Tokito comes to the realization that while Tea is completely in love with him, it’s only because she thinks he’s Koichi. He wants her to like him as him. He gets excited soon enough, along with the rest of his group, when they find new supplies and food. Bryan attempts to use a computer, but apparently he can’t get through its security. Serena teases him (though it seems more like threatening) about this, since they don’t know the place where they are and what he’s doing might be intolerable. Bryan isn’t afraid and restrains her, asking her just what’s unjust about what he’s doing. Serena tells him something which scares him enough to let go. (I’m not sure what. Someone needs to fansub this, because it’s been a great challenge to translate so far.) Meanwhile, Tea is off with Airi (who dragged Tea along with her.) Airi offers Tea some grapes. While they eat, Airi asks if tea loves Koichi, which she says yes to. Airi goes on to discuss the fact that Misuzu and Tokito were close in their childhood and that Misuzu likes Tokito. Even after Airi finally manages to instill this into Tea’s pea-sized brain, Tea decides this means that she and Misuzu will become good friends. Bryan interrupts there talk, telling Tea that Tokito wants to go n a date with her. Tea is excited and Airi is confused. Tea goes to Tokito and glomps him. Tokito is surprised that Tea actually used his real name. Apparently, he doesn’t know about this date thing either, but decides that Serena must’ve set it up, so he accepts. Tea has some interesting date plans in mind for them. Meanwhile, Airi questions Bryan about this. It turns out that Serena did set it up. As the two walk, they meet with Misuzu and whats-his-name bishounen, who just bought a ton of clothes. While Tea and Tokito commence there date, it turns out that Serena has transformed into Tea and is watching them. However she looks around after changing back as if she’s being watched. She spots a Gardener. The others are all busy reveling in the things they got, but Yousuke seems suspicious of something. Bryan makes the mistake of bringing up the date, which causes Misuzu to rip up the new dress she bought. During the date, Tea sees a lot of people that aren’t really there (including Koichi?) and starts to cry. She says she doesn’t know why she’s crying and wipes her tears away, saying they should continue the date. They decide to go see a movie. Serena is following them again and getting increasingly creepy. While Tokito and Tea watch the movie, which features separated lovers meeting again, Tea is personally touched by it. Meanwhile, Serena is attacked by mutant bugs and fights them. She eventually manages to stop them all by destroying the source they came from or something. However, she gets badly hurt doing so. Tokito and Tea find her and take care of her Serena is touched to have companions who would help her even though they had no reason to.
I think the reason I wrote so much is because nobody is subbing this (Again, they should. It’s confusing for people like me.) and I really think more people should watch it. It’s a cool series. Getting to the point: Serena kakoi yo! This girl made a pretty bad first impression on me admittedly. I thought she was going to be an evil Tea or something. There’s still definitely reasons not to trust her, but she’s turning out to be a very intriguing character. She’s a mild tsundere I guess, with a mostly cold and tough side. I’d love to see some of her nice side though, which seemed to be starting to show at the very end. I think I was fully sold on her character in the scene where she was totally annihilating those bug things. It was amazing how beat up she got, but then she came right back up to beat them. There were other points of interest in this episode besides her. One was Misuzu’s reaction to the date thing. That just gives me more evidence for my Misuzu=Fllay thing. She was so creepy in that scene. There were also some interesting things regarding Tokito and Tea. Tokito’s romantic interest in Tea is becoming increasingly obvious. Now he’s even got to the point where he’s bothered by Tea calling him Koichi all the time. I feel concern for him, because it would kind of suck if the person you liked only liked you because you looked like someone else. Tea is making some progress though. This episode also showed that despite the fact that she’s kind of naïve and has a very one track mind, she’s not a complete brick head and she also has a lot of emotional strength to go with her physical strength. She was able to make herself stop crying really easily and had a very calm reaction to the movie (in comparison to what the typical angst-ridden anime character would have) even though it was close to her actual life. I’m growing respect for her as well. Airi and Bryan were also cool enough in this episode for me to remember there names. No luck yet for Yousuke and the bishounen.
The episode begins with Haruhi saying that a wand is every magic user’s partner and each is unique. Sumomo shows Takamine a poster, advertising for an event on the subject of Tama-chans. Takamine decides to teach everyone how to prepare a Tama-chan. She starts by giving everyone some of clay, which they shape into a Tama-chan. After using some magic, they come to life. Each one has a different attitude, but Anri’s is a bad one and turns red, so Takamine has to destroy it. Takamine goes on to talk about how she has a lot of Tama-chans, since making them is her specialty. She’s kind of like a pioneer of Tama-chans. The group decides to have a party for her. One Tama-chan seems particularly sad for some reason. That night, Haruhi remembers back to when she made her wand. She was told about how important it was and that she had to put her heart into it while making it. She used a trumpet. Her wand cheers her up before she goes to sleep. Anri thinks of how she made her wand out of a feather pen. They seem to have a close relationship too. It even doesn’t get too angry when Anri tries to eat it. While Takamine sleeps, her Tama-chan gets depressed thinking about the Tama-chan that blew up and after looking at the poster decides to leave. She knows she’s being a little selfish in doing so. Takamine obviously can’t find her the next morning, so she tells the others this. They decide to help her look. While Tama-chan is off on her own, she’s spotted by a white-haired girl. Meanwhile, everyone splits up to go searching. Yuma and Haruhi pass a poster like the one from earlier and Yuma gets an idea of where Tama-chan could be. They do find her and she’s rather upset. I didn’t catch everything she said but this has something to do with her being jealous of Takamine’s first Tama-chan. Anyway, she says that she’s not going to return home until Takamine tells her to. They then hear an announcement about the actual presentation on how to make a Tama-chan. The three go to watch it but it’s done completely wrong by people who are clearly amateurs. The thing they create is a giant black monster. Haruhi remembers that Takamine explained how a good Tama-chan could turn into a bad Tama-chan. Tama-chan tries to stop it and Takamine hears her and comes closer. Takamine lets the Tama-chan know that she remembers it’s number because she remembers all her Tama-chans. (It’s some very high number that my vocabulary can’t comprehend. 9114? Apologies.) Takamine is able to touch Tama-chan’s heart and they fight the bad Tama-chan together. It defeats the other one at the cost of its own life. At the end, Takamine makes a new one.
I’ll have to agree with everyone else watching this and say that this was a highly pointless episode. It was cute, but really unnecessary. It was about one Tama-chan out of 9000+ and she dies at the end, so it’s not like she was going to be a major character. It really surprises me that the Tama-chan is female, due to her voice. They kept referring to it as a she and at the end the main one in the episode said something about all its sisters, so I guess I’ll have to take their word for it. I hope from now on this series keeps developing plot or at least characters. What could’ve been a good episode about Takamine was wasted with this. I wonder if they count this as her development episode or if she’ll get another episode later on. This episode did explain the wands, which I do find interesting, so I guess that counts as a merit for it. I still don’t totally get why the trumpet and feather pen can talk, but I guess it’s just because they’re magic. Well, whatever. Can’t really say much else about this.

A preview of this weeks episode: Just your typical beach episode, with a touch of magic and plenty of angst. Also, the animation quality is back to normal, which isn’t spectacular but it’s better than last week.
Actually a pretty enjoyable episode.

After some contemplation, I decided that this would be the series I’d blog in the style that I did the 2nd half of Air Gear. It’s mostly just a cute romantic comedy and while watching this episode, I noticed that there’s not much to summarize. (But I must blog it. Secretly, I tend to fall behind on the shows I don’t blog and I want to continue with this crack gem.) The second episode was all plot and had plenty to summarize, but the rest were more or less random fun that could be summarized in only a few sentences. This one for instance would be: The school is putting on a play of Sleeping Beauty. The person who’s meant to play the lead is sick, so the student council decides that Ayako should do it. They also convince Mamoru to play the prince. If they weren’t nervous enough about the play, they later find out that there will be a kiss scene. Ayako straight out refuses, so the student council members all dress up and try to get Mamoru to kiss Shione. Ayako stops this and is angry because she hasn’t ever kissed Mamoru before. Eventually things work out and the play actually starts, but Ayako, who’s been sneezing the whole episode, passes out on stage during one showing of it. Okay, I’ll admit that was some what of a plot, especially because it ended in a cliffhanger. It just didn’t really develop the whole story about the Beatrice power thing at all. It was ridiculously cute at points and as funny as ever, but I’m rather interested ion seeing how the actual plot will develop. The end really impressed me though, because the last thing I expected was for this episode to end in a cliffhanger. It’s quite likely that Ayako passed out because she was sick, but it still creates tension. It also means that the kiss scene will have to happen soon. It is Sleeping Beauty after all. I’m looking forward to seeing Ayako and Mamoru kiss, just because it will probably be exaggeratedly cute. I really can’t say for certain what will happen next week, because the preview is always just a blank screen. The screaming was pretty funny though. I also found this thing pretty funny.

I’ve finally decided what I’m going to watch and decided to get this up before it’s too late. As always, this is based on the day I’ll likely get the episode, not the day it airs.

I think I mentioned everything. I’m dropping D-Gray Man and Asatte no Houkou, the former due to lack of interest after watching the first 3 and the latter due to lack of time. In the meantime, I decided to start watching Da Capo for the fun of it. Admittedly, I’d watched the first episode a while ago but Iwatched 2-4 earlier today. Aside from the obvious similarities in character designs, the magic cherry tree thing and the non-related imouto as the main love interest, it’s not a ton like Gift so far. It actually reminds me more of Canvas 2. Miharu is my favorite girl so far.
I’ll be using the spelling Ryuk for now, because apparently it’s more correct.
-The other shinigami (none which are as ugly as Ryuk) notice the fact that Ryuk has been missing and decide that its because a human found his Death Note first. There’s also the possibility that he had two Death Notes.
-Light turns down Ryuk’s offer. If he’s going to be a god, he would want a longer life, not a shorter one. Ryuk is disappointed by this and says that he just wanted to give Light the option, but Light counters with the fact that if that were his only reason, then he would’ve offered the shinigami eye right away.
-Ryuk sees Light as a fine shinigami already, so Light believes he’s working harder than most real shinigami. He also states that he’s working for the sake of the humans.
-It’s revealed that the Death Note isn’t capable of killing the victim in any way. Three cases proved that if you put an impossible cause of death than it won’t work.
-Light has a plan to catch the man who’s following him. Part of it involves inviting a girl named Yuri on a date. She’s very excited at the idea of going to Spaceland with Light.
-The man who’s following Light wants to write him off as a suspect, since he seems to just be a normal kid going on a date. Still, he follows him onto the bus.
-A failed bank robber gets on the bus and tries to rob Spaceland over the phone
-Light shows Yuri a note, describing his plan to stop the robber. The man following Light reads it and tells him it’s a bad idea. He’ll handle it instead. Light que3stions whether he’s another hijacker, so the man shows off his ID. He’s an FBI agent named Raye Penber. Now Light knows his name.
-Light intentionally drops the paper and the robber picks it up. Since he doesn’t see anything important, he gives it back. However, since the page came from the Death Note, he’s able to see Ryuk. He’s horrified (rightfully) and tries to shoot him, but his bullets are all stopped until he runs out.
-The robber escapes but gets hit by a car. Everything went according to Light’s plan.
I have no clue while I wrote the entry in bullets. I made no attempt to shorten it or anything, so it’s not like I did much less work. I guess I just get bored of doing straight out summaries all the time. That was a very cool episode though. Light’s plan was so intricate and complex. It’s no wonder he’s such an advanced student. It just impresses me that anyone can come up with something like that. Though, I do wonder if he really counted on that guy showing him his ID. That seemed like more luck than skill. Light does consider himself a god though, so he probably did expect it. I wonder if things will go so smoothly for him every time he goes after someone. Maybe this wasn’t as great a strategy as it seemed though, because Raye was planning to write him off. Light could’ve been done being a suspect entirely, but since he’s going to pursue this further, L is likely to suspect him as the one responsible for Raye’s inevitable death. Also, I really liked the scene where the robber was shooting at Ryuk. It was cool to see all the bullets just bounce back. Ryuk could be a very deadly foe. Since he’s not on Light’s side, I fear for him. Seeing Light is cool and all (so I can’t really complain) but I’d love to see other characters get a spotlight too. L is still a mysterious figure who I have little opinion on since he hasn’t done much at all. I hope he gets more development soon. I’d also like to see Misa, since she seems cool.

Choco and Chitose are out on a painfully hot day. Choco notices a lot of people in strange outfits and asks about them. Chitose explains to her that there’s a festival and is surprised that Choco doesn’t no about festivals. She tells Choco that they’re fun, which makes he want to go. She calls Yurika about it, but is unable to convince her to come. One of Yurika’s maids listens in on this conversation. Chitose gets dressed to go out and hears someone knocking on her door. Expecting to see Choco she opens it. She was right, but Haruma’s there too. She has her usual kind of reaction to being able to go out with him. Choco is very excited about the various things to do at the festival, so the three do some of the activities available. They eventually find that Tamami is working at a yakisoba stand (and wearing a swimsuit, oddly enough.) She offers one to Chitose and calls her Haruma’s girlfriend again, which gets her very happy. While Haruma tries to correct Tamami, a customer comes to the stand, allowing him to escape. He apologizes to Chitose for the situation. While they talk, Choco runs off to go see another stand selling baby dinosaurs chicks. She calls Haruma over, but can’t find him. Meanwhile, Yurika is at home doing school work and decides to take a break. Her maid comes in with a yukata to change her into, whether she likes it or not. At the festival, Haruma and Chitose look for Choco, but run into Makoto, who’s drinking as usual. She says she’ll help look for Choco, but serves only to cause trouble. As Choco walks on her own, she drops her notebook. Somebody goes to pick it up and that turns out to be Kakeru. He gets her ice cream (and is rather embarrassed watching her eat it. I bet the shape had something to do with it) and decides to help her look for Haruma. Yurika and her maid soon arrive at the festival. Yurika is excited, but hides it by complaining. Kakerua and Choco begin searching for Haruma, but Kakeru bumps into some punks, who aren’t going to let him get away with it. He’s saved though by Midori, who beats the crud out of the punks. Midori also mistakes Kakeru and Choco’s relationship, which embarrasses him (not that he’s at all difficult to embarrass.) They soon find Yurika, much to both of their surprises. Kakeru remembers her because of seeing her panties. Enter the romantic tension of children. Meanwhile, Midori joins Makoto in drinking. They start a drinking contest. While Haruma and Chitose continue looking for Choco, someone knocks over Chitose and she lands in Haruma’s arms. She then thinks about the fact that they’re holding hands. She’s about to tell something to Haruma when Choco calls them. The fireworks go off and everyone watches them, including the very drunk Makoto and Midori. Yurika’s maid notices that Yurika is smiling.
That was such an awesome episode. The animation quality wasn’t that great at points (while in others it looked extra good) but I can’t really complain since that’s not very common for this series. Plus, the episode was loaded with character development and kept the fanservice to a minimum. I never suspected so much romantic tension with the absence of Ayano. Haruma/Chitose is so canon obvious that it’s not even funny. Oh never mind, actually it’s quite funny. I’m still entertained by Chitose’s ridiculous trains of thought over the littlest things. For instance, it’s obvious that Haruma would go with Choco to the festival, but Chitose went on about being together with Haruma. I kind of wish she got the chance to confess, but there’s still quite a few episodes. Then there was the awesome scene with Tamami. I loved Chitose’s reaction to getting to hear herself confused as Haruma’s girlfriend. Kakeru is giving Chitose a run for her money in the category of awesome flustered raburabu reactions. He is just too adorable when he blushes, which he does in the majority of his screentime. I’m so very torn now between shipping him with Choco or Yurika. I guess they’re going to be the big love triangle now that Ayano is gone (because I see very little room for her to come back.) Next week’s episode will be about Yurika and Kakeru, so hopefully any development (be it positive or negative) will help me come to a decision as to which I like better. In any case, it should be totally cute to watch.
