The fight against Gooyan continues. He creates even more destruction to the empty planet, leaving only a bit of land left. However, Mai, Saki, Michiru and Kaoru refuse to give up. All together, they use their ultimate technique, Precure Spiral Heart Splash Star. Gooyan is sucked inot a massive ball of light, but still hasn’t lost yet. He tries to take Mai and Saki with him, but Michiru and Kaoru grab them, saving their friends. Gooyan, however, is disintegrated. After that, the Earth is restored and all life is returned. However, not all is well. Michiru and Kaoru will still disappear. As they die and fade to nothingness, a miracle occurs though. (This is a mahou shoujo title. What did you expect?) The earth’s spirits restore their life. Once this is done, Filia leaves Korone’s body and returns to her world. Flappy, Choppy, Mupu and Fupu go back as well, but it’s only temporary. The four girls continue their regular lives. After one of Saki’s baseball games, she receives a trophy.
Yay! A satisfying conclusion to a fun series. PCSS was highly ridiculous, but I don’t regret devoting a year of my time to watching it. That’s not something I can say about a lot of anime. I’ll admit that there were times when I considered dropping this. I wouldn’t call it amazing, because it was, predictable, repetitive and very slow-paced. However, it had a lot of good things going for it too. When Michiru and Kaoru first showed up, the series surprised me for the first time and all faith I lost in it was restored by their arc. It was full of neat little plot twists that were perhaps a bit displayed but were highly emotional to watch. As much as everyone watching probably knew Michiru and Kaoru would become good, there was still that looming fact that they were servants of Akudaikaan-sama and thus bad guys at the time. Then there wasn’t any big plot twists until that whole thing at the end with Gooyan turning out to be the final boss. However, there were still a lot of entertaining things between then. Of course, we all probably know by now what my favorite thing about the show was. Minori-chan! Even from the early episodes, her character was my favorite for whatever unexplained reason. Maybe it’s just because she’s cool. She came closer than anyone in the show to finding out Mai and Saki’s secret, she was quite essential to the conversion of Michiru and Kaoru, she’s one of the few characters in this show with intelligence and she’s quite a good artist for her age. Did I ever mention she’s adorable? Darn, I wish this show was getting a second season so I could enjoy more Minori. For now, I’ll settle for Yes! Precure 5. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a fun show.

Hunter is easily able to Buguese’s most recent Machine-sector thingy, or so he thinks. Buguese isn’t at all concerned and this is because it has the ability to heal itself. To improve his situation, Buguese uses it to trap Hunter and Shadow, which leaves them suspended upside-down to a pole. Much to Buguese’s annoyance though, Hunter still refuses to give up, even though he’s being fired at and has no means of escaping. Eventually though, the pole gets destroyed and so they escape. Because Grasshop removed the device allowing the robot to regenerate, Hunter is able to defeat it. However, Buguese is still confidant that he’s won. Everyone forgot about Aqune, who made it to the Oracle Key. She takes it and escapes with Buguese. Nuuma castle begins to fall, so Hunter decides to save it by using one of his own Oracle Keys. Unfortunately, he’s not an Oracle Maiden so he can’t get through the barrier. Corona helps him and together they save Nuuma castle. Buguese is annoyed by this but Stags is impressed and fully acknowledges that he’s lost.
That was brief, but since the episode is already up on Youtube, anyone can check it out for themselves now. It was actually a pretty satisfying episode, although a disappointment compared to the endings of the first two quarters of the series. Now only one quarter is left, but there’s still a lot that needs to happen. Hopefully they can pull it off, but I trust Bee Train. The series has gone pretty well so far. About this episode though, the first half was quite funny. It wasn’t intended to be so, yet I seriously love the Buguese/Hunter rivalry, so their back and forth arguing over the same things was really amusing to me. The fact that Hunter was upside-down only added to the amusement though. I’m really questioning now if the Big Four is down to the Big Two. Stags discarded his armor at the end, so I wonder if that means he quit. I remember when they kicked Grasshop off, they took his away. If so, then that’s a pretty interesting development. Since neither Buguese, Aqune or Beerain are especially loyal to Mantid (though Buguese wants everyone to think he is) it seems like the Insector side is really going to lose soon. They may have two keys at the moment, but without anymore strong servants of Mantid, that might not matter. Then again, since the Oracle Keys are so powerful, maybe Mantid will turn out to be a threat on his own. I can’t wait to find out. I can’t have a whole post without doing this, now can I?

So it’s Nerine’s turn for a recap episode now. This episode featured Nerine learning to cook omelet’s for Rin, lots of havoc by the KKK, RRR and SSS, the girls helping Rin around the house when Kaede got sick and Nerine’s reaction to Rin and Sia’s relationship. Okay, I don’t care much for Nerine. I find her more interesting than Primula, but she’s not as likable as Asa or Kaede. (If you’re wondering, she’s on about equal terms with Sia for me, because they’re practically the same.) The earlier Nerine episodes actually featured the better part of her story before it gets into the boring double-personality thing, so this was kind of cute to watch. I’ll always wonder how Rin could tolerate eating all the omelet’s she made for him. Maybe it’s just because I don’t like eggs, but Nerine should create a new menu. Her most redeeming quality is constantly stopping the fanclubs, because they’re just so annoying. Plus, it’s funny to see her blow stuff up. Other than having destructive powers, Nerine never seemed particularly demon-like to me. Sia should’ve been the demon. Speaking of which, I guess Sia’s episode will be next. Hopefuly they’ll pick some interesting footage, because this show now has even resorted to recapping the recaps. The OPs and EDs are also getting more dull (though major points for changing them every episode.) Nerine’s OP was alright, actually, but her ED was really boring.

-Kuu and Kyoushirou fell into the destroyed school. Because Kyoushirou is unconscious, Kuu tries to move him, calling to Setsuna or anyone for help.
-Because Kyoushirou is badly wounded and the only first aid kit Kuu can find is full of bugs, she tears her skirt into strips to make a bandage for him.
-Kyoushirou starts talking about his brother in his sleep, worrying Kuu
-Tarurotte and Setsuna continue their fight
-Kuu finally finds some running water, but by the time she comes back to give some to Kyoushirou, he’s recovered somewhat. Meanwhile, Soujirou finds the horse caught up in vines by the cliff. (Yes! The horse lived!)
-Kuu questions Skyoushirou about what kind of person his brother was. She finds out that he has all the qualities of her prince. Kuu wants to meet Kyushirou’s brother someday, but he explains that his brother died ten years ago.
-Kyoushirou’s brother was a genius who used to do research on the Absolute Angels. He saved Kyoushirou, telling him to live, before dying in an explosion in his lab.
-While Kuu gets more water, she’s approached by Soujirou who reaches his hand to her and is afraid. Kyoushirou shows up to save her.
-Soujirou is also revealed to be a brother of Kyoushirou
-Soujirou reveals that he helps Tarurotte because he pities the Absolute Angels. Kyoushirou questions why Soujirou would do this. He wants to destroy all the Absolute Angels. He’s using Setsuna for now, but she’ll have to die too. I’m guessing this is because he blames them for what happened to his brother.
-Tarurotte and Setsuna show up. Kyoushirou tells Setsuna to continue the fight. Soujirou tries to stop Tarurotte, but she also keeps fighting.
-Kuu is upset by hearing what Kyoushirou is ordering Setsuna to do and pleads for him to stop, because she wants him to be kind like her prince.
-There’s a big flashing light, but then after that, everything’s alright for now. The horse even comes back.
-Kaon’s torturing is over and somehow Mika changed the symbol on Kaon.
That was a pretty surprising episode. I didn’t expect Kyoushirou to be so evil. I think he’s still meant to be the hero, but I don’t know how that’s going to work if his motives are to destroy all the Absolute Angels. I guess once the Absolute Angels are explained more, they could pull some plot twist explaining how they’re really evil and need to be destroyed or something. They don’t seem evil though, with the exception of Tarurotte. I’m liking Soujirou more and more now. It seems I was wrong about thinking he was evil. Perhaps he is by association if he’s helping Tarurotte and if his ideals clash with Kyoushirou’s but as a person he isn’t so bad. He sees reason to pity the Absoulte Angels. They are fairly pitiable I suppose, especially Setsuna. It’s pretty awful that she seemingly loves Kyoushirou so much except that she technically can’t love him and she’s just a tool for him that he wants to get rid of someday. This is a pretty emotional series despite its cheesiness and I think as of this point, the tension can only grow. That thing at the end with Kaon and Himiko couldn’t have been good either. I have no idea what it meant, nut hopefully it will be explined next week . It looks like it will have more of Kaon and Himiko, and Kuu and Kyoushirou will go shopping. The previews are really pathetic for this show though, so I really can’t make any assumptions from them.
It’s time for me to write something for Shiori already? I guess that’s not too surprising. Whether the Shiori arc ends next week or not, which I think it might, it will have to end soon considering Ayu and Nayuki’s arcs will probably need ample time. They’re supposed to be the main girls after all. On the other hand, they’ve been getting small bits of development as the series went on. Ayu was pretty interesting last week with the whole Akiko drama. Getting back to Shiori, I’m enjoying her arc so far. It still feels too drawn out, but at least it’s interesting. I also think that out of Makoto, Mai and Shiori, she’s the best match for Yuichi. Their relationship is quite cute. So… Shiori’s gonna die? I hope not, but it seems pretty inevitable. Considering what happened with Makoto, I know this series isn’t afraid to off characters. I just hope the ending of her arc is decent. Makoto’s ending was pathetic, especially considering all the dramatic buildup. Since this arc bears a lot of resemblance to Makoto’s, it might have a similarly poor ending. I enjoyed Mai’s ending though, so there is hope that Shiori’s will be enjoyable. About Kaori, I have a difficult time sympathizing with her. I feel that she’s being a bit selfish. She may be losing her sister soon, but I think she should savor the time she can have with Shiori, especially because Shiori wants it too. Hopefully she’ll realize this before it’s too late. I won’t keep my hopes up though, because Shiori’s time is running short.

Mai, Saki, Michiru and Kaoru begin a Dragonball Z-esque fight against Gooyan. This includes powering up, screaming, abnormally fast movements in which the characters seem to be teleporting and leave shockwaves behind them, and Mai and Saki getting thrown to the other side of the city. After they get back, Saki fires a massive kamehameha unnamed energy beam at Gooyan which nearly finishes him. However, Gooyan comes back and doesn’t even look scratched. Filia and Korone intervene but sicne they drop the Carafe into the ocean, Gooyan is able to get the sun fountain. He creates a black hole to suck virtually all the life on Earth away. The population count will soon lower, as he reveals that Michiru and Kaoru will disappear. Mai and Saki are quite distressed. However, due to Flappy and Choppy, they realize that the sky and Earth still exist even if there’s no life left. Flappy, Choppy, Mupu and Fupu power the four girls up and Michiru and Kaoru are given a new transformation. They’re now prepared to fight Gooyan.
The DBZ-style fighting thing was totally ridiculous, but very funny. It’s amazing how strong the girls got so quickly. Ever sicne the Kintoresky arc, they’ve just been turning into these amazing martial artists. Anyway, this was a really cool episode. I probably should’ve watched it sooner. The fighting genre is really boring, but the occasional insane battle is always a lot of fun to watch. The fact that nearly all life on Earth was sucked away was also cool. It’s obvious that they’ll get it back (even if the preview didn’t give it away) but sudden moments of peril that put the fate of the entire Earth at stake are just cool, even if that means Minori-chan currently dosn’t exist. Wait, that’s not fair! Bring back Minori next week. ^_-
In other news, Gin-iro no Olynssis has finally been subbed. Now my favorite psychotic duo can be multilingual!
*Is amazed that I managed to find some pictures of Koichi and Misuzu in which I hadn’t yet capped. I’m well aware that these are way too spoilerish. ^_^;*
In the first half, Momoko’s constant intake of sweets leads her to getting a cavity. At the same time, Mojo gets a cavity from too much sweets and they’re both forced to go to a dentist. Due to Mojo’s disguise, Momoko doesn’t recognize him and decides that they should stick together since they’re there for the same reason. However, they’re both afraid after seeing a boy and his mother leave crying after their experience with the son getting a filling. Momoko is first to receive the local anesthetic and she has Mojo read her a story while this is happening. Mojo is up next and very afraid. He manages to get through it, but it causes him to break out. After that Momoko succeeds in getting her filling. When it’s Mojo’s turn,. He tries to escape, but is surrounded by a cheering squad and has to stay. However, he moves around too much and his teeth get chipped. This causes him to reveal his identity. However, Momoko transforms into Blossom and sends him to the moon, where he’s strapped into another dental chair. Back at home, Momoko starts eating sweets again, only to this time get a stomachache. The second part featured an abused business man who liked disco getting zapped by the black light. The PPGZ are invited as guests to a disco dance and everyone comes along, even though Ken isn’t happy about it. While Ken stays in the bathroom though, Monster-of-the-week winds up transforming into Fever Man, his monster form. He turns everyone there into disco dancers, complete with puffy hair. The PPGZ transform to fight him, but become disco dancers too. When Ken returns, the Professor tries to inform him of the situation, but Ken can’t hear him. When Ken tries to lower the volume, he ends up getting zapped too. When he tries to escape the disco dancer controlling the booth, he accidentally trips the wire and saves everyone. He has no clue what he did though.
The first half was definitely one of the funniest episodes yet. It was additionally amusing because on the date I actually watched it (which was earlier this week) I had just come home from the dentist. I didn’t have to get any fillings though. :P Seeing the torture of Momoko and Mojo was amusing. I don’t care that the fear of a dentist visit plot is clichéd because I just loved all the randomness, such as the cheering squad that Momoko somehow got to show up and the fact that there was an alien dentist waiting for Mojo on the moon. Sometimes this show can be pathetic, but occasionally there will be episodes like this that make it all worthwhile. The second half wasn’t as great, but still proved to be entertaining. Ken rules and I like it when he gets to be the hero, even if it is by complete accident like this time. Fever Man was a really idiotic villain though. The engrish was amusing at points, but he himself was lame. Stick with the Great Michel for awesome engrish villains. I hope he shows up again soon. Next week will be another Him episode though.

This week was part 1 of Asa’s story. If I wasn’t a fan of Asa, I wouldn’t have even had the patience to watch this, because the quality of my file for this episode was horrific. The voices and the images weren’t matched up and I couldn’t even see everything. I really wanted to savor the new Asa OP. (Surprisingly, the ED played quite well.) There were actually some new things this week, so I’m just a bit annoyed. Nothing different happened, but some of the footage was different from in the original series. Anyway, this episode covered the Asa storyline up to the part where she was explaining to Rin about how she was so cruel to her mother as a child, before everyone leaves to go save Primula. It also seems pretty likely that they’ll be doing an Asa ending again, because on the OP they showed scenes from later in her story arc. It would be nice if I was wrong about this though, because I want some variety. I was pleased that Asa won, but she doesn’t have to do so twice. Maybe they’ll fool me and do everyone’s ending or something. I doubt that, but at least this episode gives me some hope for more new footage in the future.
Hunter survives being crushed because Shadow protected him with a web at the last minute. However, he’s still hurt. Meanwhile, Buguese and Aqune are able to get into the room with the oracle key. Illuma and Solan are surprised to see that Aqune has a manacle. She uses it to transform and defeat Lumen and Igneous. Grasshop hears that something is going on and decides to investigate, telling Sparkle to wait and be cute. While Magma and Corona argue over who should continue on, they find out that Stags has been ordered to contain them all. Hunter is angry because he used to respect Stags for his honor. Stags explains that he’s following his duty as a soldier, who is battling for the future of the Invectids. Stags then challenges Hutner to another fight. Hunter isn’t interested, but Stags attacks him, forcing him into it. Regardless, Stags wonders if the cause he’s fighting for is really justified. During their fight, Hunter drops his Oracle Keys. Corona eventually realizes that Hunter should use them and she powers him up. However, she continues to glow afterwards and manages to give Hunter the power of Nuuma’s Oracle Key as well. He and Shadow make a third transformation and knock Stags out onto the balcony. However, Stags still stands. He states that Hunter broke his warriors spirit and so he has no more reason to fight. He then purposely falls off the castle. Meanwhile, Buguese attempts to steal the Oracle Key. Grasshop, who was spying on them, is worried about this. Fortunately for him, Buguese can’t get through the barrier. Aqune can though, much to the surprise of Illuma. That would have to mean she’s one of the Oracle’s handmaidens. Illuma tries to reason with them, stating that if they take the key, the castle will crash. Then Buguese and all of his men would also die. Buguese says that he doesn’t care about this and he has no true comrades or friends. That’s only something that humans would have. But anyway, Hunter’s appearance stops them from taking the key and so Buguese calls out a machine-sector to fight Hunter.
Ho hum. Not a bad episode, but not particularly inspiring. Hunter’s new transformation was cool. Each one just looks freakier and freakier. Corona is also just getting weirder. She somehow managed to power Hunter with a third Oracle Key, even though it was nowhere near her and continued keeping Nuuma castle levitated. Stags was also fairly interesting this week. For a minute there, it looked like he was committing suicide. He managed to live though, even though he purposely threw himself off the castle. Now I’m just wondering how he’s going to get back in, or if he will at all. Since he says that he lost his spirit as a warrior, maybe he’s going to give up fighting (and perhaps being an enemy) now. I’m still not so certain though. It is good to see that Stags didn’t just forget about his code. He was pretty insane last week, but now we see that what he was doing was still a part of his code because he had to loyally obey orders whether he agreed with them or not. Of course, what interests me most is still Buguese and Aqune and their true love. There was nothing I could really use this week to add to my cracky ship, except maybe that Buguese was being a tad bit possessive again. Drives me crazy though that he sometimes refers to her as his pet in the dub even if maybe it is semi-true. I just hope that someday the second half will air in Japan, so I can watch the episodes as they were meant to be. I’d probably like them a lot better that way. Anyway, Buguese is still carefully following his nonsense plan and stating things that obviously weren’t true. I don’t buy his line about having no care about what happens to his comrades for a second, especially considering his past interactions with Aqune and Beerain. Likewise, during his speech, they were showing a still shot of Aqune for a bit. Secret symbolism, maybe. Obviously, he just has to keep making people think he’s so heartless, but hopefully it will show again that this isn’t the case. Next week, Buguese should at least get a lot of screentime, since this episode set up for a battle against his latest machine-sector/robo-beetle/whatever you want to call it. Now that Hunter has all this extra power, I shouldn’t see it being that difficult to take out.
-Kyoushirou, Mika and Soujirou take simultaneous showers/baths while contemplating interesting things that I should’ve actually tried to translate. AT least, we find out that Kyoushirou and Kuu’s prince aren’t the same person, but that guy is actually Kyoushirou’s brother… I think.
-Kuu watches Setsuna cook and makes commentary on how much she’s like a princess. Kuu decides to help.
-Kuu, Setsuna and Kyoushirou eat dinner. This has got to be the cheesiest scene in the whole show thus far, complete with dramatic face-wiping.
-While taking yet another bath with Setsuna, Kuu is thinking again about Kyoushirou and Setsuna’s relationship. She tries to remind herself that the absolute angels and humans don’t love each other. Seeing that Kuu is sad, Setsuna kisses her to cheer her up, but this just freaks Kuu out more.
-Soujirou and the cat girl (who’s name I really need to figure out) make eachother’s lives miserable while at a pool. This goes on throughout the episode and I was enjoying every minute of it.
-Kaon is getting violently smashed by something. I think this proves that Mika is a sadist. Himiko can’t get her to stop and is quite concerned by this.
-Kyoushiurou and the girls prepare for their next mission. Kyoushirou kisses Setsuna, which gets Kuu upset. When Kyoushirou finds out about this, he explains to Kuu that it was just for his duties. Setsuna is not his girlfriend, but he needed to charge her eternal mana so that she could fight.
-Catgirl attacks, which eventually leads to Kuu, Kyoushirou and the horse plummeting off a cliff to their doom. Yes, I’m also concerned about the horse. ^_^;
I hate to say this pathetic thing is my favorite new show, but it is. I love the crazyness and the melodrama. It’s weird because half the time I want to take it seriously and half the time I just stare blankly, wondering if they honestly wanted viewers to take a part seriously. The only thing I can find in this show that might be serious is the love triangle between Kuu, Kyoushirou and Setsuna. Despite the fact that Kyoushirou doesn’t love Setsuna, and Setsuna said that she doesn’t love him, I have a feeling that she does. Maybe I’m just feeling the same deception as Kuu, but there’s something odd about Setsuna when it comes to Kyoushirou. She seems like more than just some kind of battle doll. I could say the same for the Kaon/Himiko relationship. Ow, even this show is thought provoking. I must remind myself of the stupidity of this show. I mean five characters bathed/showered this week and there was also a pool scene and more yuri kissing. This is just an insane show. Also, I still love the relationship between Soujirou and the cat girl. It was so adorable this week. How does he put up with all the catgirl’s abuse? I don’t think that really matters though. I just hope to see more of their adorable interactions and more Soujirou shower scenes!
