Minami-Ke
Maybe it’s just because I fully expected to be bored out of my mind by this, but it’s actually pretty decent. The characters have some interesting quirks without being flat-out sterotypes and there were a couple of funny moments. I don’t know if I’m going ot continue with this, but I wouldn’t rule it out just yet. Maybe it’d just be a better thing to marathon once it’s over though, than to watch on a weekly basis. My biggest problem with slice-of-life shows is that they don’t have enough of an ongoing storyline to keep me excited about them each week. The plotline of this series seems quite loose so far, with no real objective except to show the three sisters in silly situations.

Rental Magica
Another series with some potential, but I don’t know if I’m totally sold on the idea yet. I like all the freaky stuff, like when the girl’s grandfather turned into leaves and started sucking her up (and she actually wanted this), and how when Itsuki took off his eye-patch, he has this weird, demonic looking eye. The show looks like it can go in one of two ways. It might just end up being a case of the week thing, in which case, I could see this getting very old fast. If it chooses to focus more on the main group of characters, however, it might turn out interesting. I like some of them so far. Actually, the girl whose case was dealt with this week was an interesting enough character, but I doubt she’ll be much of a focus after this pont, if she even shows up again at all.

[…] It seems like Rental Magica had no/little love from the few raw viewers who have watched it already. Nevertheless, I will reserve my judgment of the show until I reviewed it, also because I love for you to read my thoughts as well (even though they generally do not make that much sense compared to the experts of anime). Oh wait, what experts? […]
